About the Artist
Peter Tkacz has been involved with the art of photography for the last 30 years, working in black & white, infrared, color print and slide film. He specializes primarily in fine art photography. His interests are in the visual arts of: photographic, digital and fractal art. Peter Tkacz has also spent most of a year rescuing a cat colony. Thanks to a wonderful cat rescuer that appeared out of nowhere, after a few months into the unplanned project, cats of the cat colony were able to be relocated to warm homes and better pastures.

A newly acquired art piece will be appreciated as a memorable collectible and a commemorative of the new bridge.

July 30th, 2014, K. Michelle Moran a C & G Staff Writer of C & G News.com, wrote a wonderful article on the Grosse Pointe ART Center's "Our Rivers, Our Lakes" art exhibit titled, "Artists 'seas' the moment for Our Rivers, Our Lakes".
Awards
"Zug Island" by Peter Tkacz, was Best of Show Winner at the Grosse Pointe Art Center's 2014, "Our Rivers, Our Lakes" exhibit, Grosse Pointe, Michigan. The panoramic of Zug Island was captured making use of a Nikon F100 camera and Kodak Ektar 100 film.
"Pond" by Peter Tkacz, a digital modern art piece, was 1st Place Color Winner of the 2013 Laurance Street Gallery Exposures '13 exhibit, Ferndale, Michigan. "Pond" was initially photographed with a Kodak point and shoot disposable film camera.
"Old Tree by the Lake" by Peter Tkacz, was 2nd Place Black and White Winner of the 2013 - 18th Annual Juried Photography Exhibition, Padzieski Art Gallery, Dearborn, Michigan. "Old Tree by the Lake" was photograph with a Mamiya RZ67 camera and Ilford SFX Black and White film.
"A Great Morning for Film Photography" a.k.a. "Zug Island" by Peter Tkacz, was 1st Place Color Winner at the 2012 Downriver Council for the Arts Photography Exhibit, Wyandotte, Michigan. The panoramic of Zug Island was captured making use of a Nikon F100 camera and Kodak Ektar 100 film.
